Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has visited Sayaya community in Matazu Local Government Area following a recent bandits’ attack that left a police officer dead and properties destroyed.
The attackers were reported to have invaded the area, attacked a police facility—killing a policeman—targeted the Primary Health Care Centre and looted several shops in the community.
During the visit, the governor inspected damaged facilities, including the health centre and affected shops, to assess the extent of destruction.
He also met with residents and sympathised with them over the incident.
Radda condoled with the Divisional Police Officer and personnel in the area over the loss of their colleague, and extended his condolences to families affected by the attack.
The governor directed the deployment of additional security personnel to the area to strengthen security and prevent further attacks.
